Individual Sessions

In my sessions with clients, the main modality I lean on is called Hakomi Somatic Psychology, which is a body-based healing modality for somatic practitioners.

What does working with me look like?

We begin by identifying a direction of growth, who are you yearning to become? We set general or specific goals and actively work towards creating an inner foundation where your growth towards your goals feels supported and empowered. Then, we identify what gets in the way of this vision through somatic discovery and increased awareness.

In a typical session, I use Hakomi to guide us into a state of presence where we can process your experience through the wisdom of your body. I guide your process as you discover your unique set of internal tools that lead to increased emotional capacity, self-regulation techniques, stronger boundaries, and showing up in your life with more presence and fullness.

Many talk therapies and coaching methods encourage the client's ability to analyze their past and future - the thinking approach to life. In these sessions we do some of that, but we mainly focus on experiential healing, growth and empowerment.

Receiving this somatic work is like training to live new lifestyle - embodied living. This includes feeling the depth of your own empowerment and learning to ride the waves of life with grace. When your mind learns how to attune to the needs and desires of your body, and your body can accomplish what your mind wishes to do, life can feel more purposeful and in flow.

Sessions are 50 minutes on a weekly or bi-weekly cadence.

Couples Sessions

In my couples sessions with clients, I use a blend of PACT (Psychobiological Approach to Couples Therapy) and EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy) which bring in both psychobiological and systems perspectives to relationships. We strive towards secure functioning.

What does couples work with me look like?

Drawing from PACT's focus on neurobiology and attachment theory, as well as EFT's emphasis on emotional connection and responsiveness, this approach addresses both the cognitive and emotional dimensions of couples' experiences. I help couples explore the deep-seated patterns of interaction influenced by attachment styles while also guiding them to recognize and express their emotions in a safe and supportive environment. Through exercises aimed at enhancing emotional attunement and fostering secure attachment bonds, couples learn to communicate effectively, regulate their emotions, and develop a deeper understanding of each other's needs and vulnerabilities.

You as a couple learn how to better be in each other’s care.

This integrative approach empowers couples to create a secure and emotionally fulfilling relationship characterized by mutual support, empathy, and intimacy.

Therapeutic Touch

Some of us grow up without receiving much physical touch from our caregivers. Turns out, physical touch can be wonderful for the body and the psyche’s sense of safety.

I offer supportive touch and holding for client’s who are particularly interested in working on their edges around touch and physical co-regulation. Working with touch is always a step-by-step process of following the speed of safety and trust while checking in with consent along the way.
